According to the Uganda Investment Authority, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Uganda’s economy. Uganda has an extensive SME sector that accounts for approximately 90% of the private sector with an estimated 980,000 SMEs largely concentrated in the urban areas, mainly in Kampala and the central regions. The Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs 2020 ranked Uganda at 39.6% of female owners as a percentage of total business owners. Uganda is among the three leading economies in Africa having the most women business.
These businesses produce and sell just about everything we buy, use, and throw away. The business activities of SMEs both have a direct impact to the natural environment and play a substantial role in driving global climate change. We collaborate with these enterprises by enabling them do business while protecting the environment, preserving economic growth and development, and promoting health and wellbeing.

The Uganda National Council for Higher Education indicates that Uganda has 282 registered institutions of higher learning. Education institutions are considered as transformation agents having a great impact on students’ habit and contribution to a prosperous society. HEIs are responsible for the formation of the next generation of professionals, which will have a decisive impact on their professional contexts and social engagement. We collaborate with the institutions of higher education to provide hands-on and practical learning opportunities for young women to develop sustainability competencies.
